HOW TO GET RID OF SCARS

We’re starting to see more people in public wearing scars with pride. Padma Lakshmi, from the reality series, Top Chef, sports a scar on her right upper arm; the singer, Seal, has facial scars from a childhood illness. While scars sometimes define a person, for many it is an embarrassing detraction and they want to eliminate its appearance. Most of us tend to seek out the best scar treatment available.
For severe scarring, surgical procedures may be required to reduce the appearance of scars. (The scars themselves will never be fully removed, simply minimized). There a several procedures that can be used for these types of scars, such as laser treatments and dermabrasion. However, these treatments can be costly, painful, and lengthy. The best scar treatment that would require medical attention would most likely be non-ablative laser.
In non-ablative laser treatment of scars, the beam is directed at the scars in order to kill the blood vessels that are exposed, causing redness, and to promote new collagen growth that will naturally fill in the scars, creating a smoother surface. Non-ablative is less invasive, less risky and more effective than its laser counterpart (ablative) and dermabrasion. It is the most recommended treatment by dermatologists.
For lighter to moderate scarring, there are some prescriptive and/or over-the-counter treatments that can be used to minimize scars. Some of these products include Retin-A and Dermatix Ultra Advanced Scar Treatment.
The active ingredient in the prescription cream Retin-A is tretinoin, which is the acid form of Vitamin A. It aides the reproduction of skin cell damage and will start producing results in about two weeks, with major improvement in seven to eight weeks.
For a very good, at-home treatment, Dermatix Ultra Advanced Scar Treatment was rated very high among users. Results are visible in about four to eight weeks.
So, as you can see, depending on your budget there are several options available for scar treatment. You’ll get many opinions about which ones are “best”, but research and talking with your physician can determine which is the best treatment for you.
How to get rid of Acne Scars
Modern technology has certainly made our lives easier, hasn’t it? Technology has made advances in skin care possible, including acne scar removal.
New acne scar removal technology has made it possible to see visible results as quickly as two to three weeks. The downside of this is that each treatment will cost several hundred dollars, sometimes more, but you will be assured of safe, effective and fast treatment.
One of the popular ways to get rid of acne scars fast is with Laser Resurfacing. This is a medical treatment, which is recommended for people who had a serious bout with acne which left deep pockmarks and dark spots on the their skin.
Laser Resurfacing is only done by professional, licensed dermatologists in an office or clinic setting. Laser Resurfacing involves removing the top layer of the skin, which has been damaged. As the skin heals, the middle layer tightens up, resulting in smoother skin. The skin will heal within about three days.
Another way to approach acne scar removal is through dermabrasion. Dermabrasion uses either spinning diamonds (I like the sound of that!) or a wire brush to wear down the first layer of skin. The skin will take longer to heal than with laser resurfacing. After about ten days, the skin will heal into a much smoother surface.
The newest treatment to get rid of acne scars is called Fractional Laser Therapy. While this treatment uses lasers, it’s not the same as laser resurfacing; this works at a different level than either dermabrasion or laser resurfacing. The face usually heals from fractional laser therapy within a few hours. It’s also a less expensive treatment option to remove acne scars.
Keep in mind that any time you undergo any type of laser treatment, you should not have any existing acne; there should be no inflamed pimples or blackheads.
How to get rid of STRETCH MARKS
Do you think that your stretch marks are here to stay? With the advances today in treatments, it’s much easier to get rid of stretch marks.

Stretch marks are those unsightly lines that show up after your skin has been stretched out. They can be caused by weight gain of any type, including pregnancy. They can be caused by any type of skin expansion, including breast enlargement! Sometimes they can be a little difficult to camoflauge, and you just want to get rid of your stretch marks.
The typical places that you will have stretch marks are on your belly, thighs, or even on your breasts. When you want to enjoy a day at the beach, it’s hard to hide those stretch marks!
There are some medical procedures that are quite effective at removing stretch marks, but they tend to be quite expensive. Since they’re cosmetic procedures, they’re typically not covered by insurance, either.
The best option for you is going to be a stretch mark cream. Stretch mark creams work by penetrating the layers of skin, and rejuvenating it.
“Using stretch mark creams such as Revitol can rapidly make a significant reduction in your stretch marks. Personally, I had stretch marks on my breasts, and when I used Revitol on them, I could see a dramatic difference.”
The stretch mark scars began to fade, and the longer I’ve used Revitol, the more faint the stretch marks have become. I look forward to my beach days now!
